Our client are a supplier of consumable products to the Education Sector, who strive to provide an outstanding customer experience with an energetically engaged team, dedicated to putting the customer first in everything they do.

The Sales Executive is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth within their assigned sales area, working across a broad range of product categories. The role involves prospecting for new business opportunities as well as managing and developing relationships with existing accounts. The successful candidate will focus on achieving sales targets, expanding the customer base, and delivering a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive engagement and product knowledge.

Duties (include but are not limited to)

  • Drive profitable sales growth by managing and expanding both new and existing accounts across multiple product categories.
  • Develop and implement strategies to achieve or exceed sales targets in the assigned sales area.
  • Identify new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, networking, and research.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients, identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Conduct cold calls and present product offerings to prospective clients.
  • Attending sales visits with clients (after 1 years service), between October to March
  • Follow up on leads generated through marketing efforts or other sources to secure new business.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the company’s products across multiple categories to provide expert advice and recommendations.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitor activities, and new product developments.
  • Present product features, benefits, and value propositions to clients, demonstrating how they meet the client’s specific needs.
  • Track and report on sales performance, including revenue, profit margins, new business and account growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline progress in the CRM system.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, customer service, and product management, to ensure client satisfaction and seamless service delivery.
  • Share market insights and customer feedback to contribute to product and service improvements.

Person Specification

  • At least 1 year of proven experience in sales (or as a business development executive / BDM), with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills..
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working across multiple product categories is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to generate new business and grow existing accounts.
  • Full UK Driving Licence essential due to client visits
