Shift Pattern is 3 days working on days, then 6 days off, then 3 days working on nights then 3 days off repeat.
Job summary
Working as aMachine Operator the job holder is responsible for the safe & efficient running of equipment to targeted outputs, whilst ensuring quality standards are met. They must ensure machines have adequate raw materials. It is also the responsibility of the Operator to assist in the cleaning down of machines during material changes and line clearance. The Operator must report any technical issues to the technical staff. Any day-to-day issues regarding operational or quality matters should be reported and discussed with the Technician to enable them to be resolved as quickly as possible. The jobholder should at all times ensure their work area is kept clean & tidy. Working as part of a team and encouraging/ supporting new personnel is essential.
Main activities:
Machine Operating
Shift pattern 3 nights (12 hour shifts) 3 rest days 3 days (12 hour shifts) 6 days rest
- Loading materials - components and web.
- Clearing jams and re-starting machines on designated machines for which satisfactory training has been received.
- Informing Technical Staff if unable to start machines.
- Clearing unit for line clearance inspection in accordance with Company Procedures.
- Effectively identify and report faults to Technical Staff immediately.
- Organising job change overs in accordance with Company Procedures.
- Carry out Shift hand over in accordance with Company Procedures.
- Support Technical Staff to meet scrap targets by alerting them immediately to any quality issues.
- Have basic knowledge of machine equipment and fault-finding skills.
- Ability to operate production equipment and contribute towards the achievement of required outputs, productivity, quality, and customer standards.
- Carrying out line clearance inspection in accordance with Company Procedures.
- Keep work area in a clean & tidy condition maintaining high standards of housekeeping.
- Cleaning the unit in accordance with departmental cleaning procedures.
- Adopting a flexible approach, operating equipment, moving materials, and carrying out other duties when cover is required, particularly during breaks.
