Recruitment - Cook

A Cook is required to work in a unique position within a small Religious Community based in Colchester - The Canonesses of the Holy Sepulchre.

We are looking for individuals that are warm-hearted, professional and committed to providing a high-quality dining experience who, in addition, have a background knowledge of the nutritional requirements of an ageing Community.

Shift pattern: 1200hrs to 1900hrs

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Job specification:

  • Collaboration with menu preparation appropriate for the Community
  • Ensuring all food preparation is to the highest quality standard
  • Cooking and presentation of meals
  • To ensure the smooth operation/organisation of the kitchen
  • Online shopping and stock rotation/management
  • Overall responsibility for high hygiene standards within the kitchen
  • To ensure all health and safety regulations are in place and enforced

Required:

  • Proven experience as a cook within a similar/complementary setting
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients and equipment appropriate to the Community
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Training certificates. Mandatory training will be provided
  • Food and Hygiene certificate - essential
  • All qualifications and certificates will be checked for their authenticity
  • Two employer references. Not a relative.
  • Right to work and DBS
  • Free Uniform
  • Rate of pay: Negotiable, depending on experience, qualifications and availability.
