We are seeking a Credit Controller to join our client's finance team, ensuring robust credit control within our organisation. This role is crucial for maintaining optimum cash flow by maximising debt collections and acting as a key link between Accounts and Service Departments.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Perform regular reviews of the Sales Ledger, maintaining the integrity and accuracy of information.
  • Drive down aged debt to meet agreed KPIs.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for credit control queries and complaints, ensuring issues are resolved in line with company policy.
  • Issue statements and debtors letters, following established processes and controls.
  • Negotiate with late payers and escalate to 3rd party debt collection if necessary.
  • Support credit account checking and payment plans in collaboration with the Sales team.
  • Build and maintain relationships with various stakeholders, including Local Authorities and Management Companies.
  • Produce and circulate reports on outstanding balances and queries to relevant departments and the Senior Leadership Team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience managing a credit control function.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting and collection regulations.
  • Tenacity and excellent customer negotiation skills.
  • Meticulous and pragmatic with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels.
  • Ability to develop robust working relationships and work as a strong team player.
  • Commercially focused with a clear understanding of business impact.
  • Results-driven with a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and self-motivated.
  • UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred for banking responsibilities.
