Kingsley Consulting are partnered with a leading roofing product and systems manufacturing business to recruit a talented CAD Designer.This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a busy technical office for a progressive manufacturer in the construction sector. As a CAD Designer, you will play a vital role in supporting technical teams with detailed CAD drawings and calculations. The position involves engaging with both internal and external stakeholders, delivering expert advice, and contributing to the successful completion of bespoke and complex design projects. Package: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE + benefits (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday)Location: Essex area near Colchester (Offering 1/2 days working from home)Role Overview: The CAD Designer will collaborate with the technical and sales teams, providing crucial support to ensure customer inquiries transition smoothly into project specifications. This includes generating technical calculations such as wind uplift, insulation "U-values," drainage, and condensation risk assessments. Additionally, you will create and manage CAD drawings, handle specification signoffs, and assist in issuing warranties to meet client expectations.The role requires technical collaboration across multiple stakeholders, including clients, approved contractors, and other associated businesses. Your contributions will help drive projects from inception to completion with accuracy and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:
  • Produce detailed CAD drawings using AutoCAD software.
  • Perform and review technical calculations for roofing, waterproofing, and building products.
  • Offer technical advice and expertise to clients and contractors.
  • Provide full project proposals and support specification approvals.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to convert inquiries into sales.
  • Ensure timely and accurate issuance of warranties and project documentation.
Experience & Skills Required:
  • Experience as a CAD Designer, preferably in the roofing, waterproofing, or construction product sectors.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD software.
  • Familiarity with technical calculations related to roofing applications (e.g., wind uplift, drainage, "U-value" calculations) is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders.
