About the role:
The Electrical Design Engineer (LV/MV) will design and develop protection and control schemes for LV/MV and EHV substations, including creating drawings, calculating protection settings, and performing cable calculations. They will also conduct power system studies, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide design expertise for substations at various voltage levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Protection Schemes: Design and develop protection and control schemes for LV/MV and EHV substations to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Drawings and Documentation: Produce and maintain accurate main connection and protection drawings, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
- Protection Settings: Calculate protection settings to ensure the safety and functionality of electrical systems.
- Cable Calculations: Perform cable calculations for voltages up to 66 kV.
- Substation Design: Provide design expertise for substations at various voltage levels, including 11 kV, 33 kV, and 66 kV.
- Power Systems Studies: Conduct and analyse power system studies such as load flow and short-circuit studies to optimize designs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulations and standards, including those from DNO, IDNO, and NERS.
What we are looking for:
- A minimum of HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Physics.
- Incorporated Engineer/member of the IET/Chartered Engineer.
- Experience in design and planning of DNO/IDNO network for 11kV 33kV and 66kV or higher.
