Your Responsibilities
- Testing PCBs and complete assemblies to specifications.
- Fault finding to component level.
- Ensuring instructions and documents are kept up to date and that test results are maintained as required.
- Ensuring that product is handled and tested in accordance with company policies, including appropriate storage and anti-static precautions.
- Ensuring product is worked on according to work schedules provided and on time according to defined deadlines.
- Ensuring that product is recorded correctly on and through the company ERP system (Epicor).
- Providing yield statistics to the Process Engineering department and offering technical recommendations where appropriate.
- Implementing new processes and generating instructions and documents in accordance with job requirements, when necessary.
- Training other employees on techniques and specific methods to ensure a broad level of skill within the department.
- Making recommendations to the Production Supervisor of any training deficiencies.
- Communicating any testing issues to the Production Supervisor.
Travel
- Limited but as required to fulfil business demands.
Your background
- BTEC ONC/HNC or City & Guilds in electronics.
- Computer literate.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in electronic production & assembly.
- Able to identify electrical component types.
- Familiar with tools commonly used in electrical and electronic testing, e.g.: Bench power supplies, Multi Meters, Oscilloscopes.
- Excellent problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
- Able to read circuit diagrams and fault find to component level.
- Knowledge of using PIC programming tools and similar devices
- Able to create/edit technical instructions.
- Good people skills, team member and builder, with the ability to motivate and empower others.
- Possess an exceptional work ethic with the ability to work flexibly and prioritize to meet deadlines.
- Soldering experience would be beneficial.
