The role will provide exposure to c-suite by working closely with business management and acting at times as a finance business partner across the group. This role offers a mix of responsibilities, from overseeing purchase ledgers to assisting in budget preparation and audits.

Description
- To oversee the purchase ledger
- To ensure that monies received and paid through the office bank account are done so securely and that transactions are accurately posted to the nominal ledger
- To ensure the office bank account is reconciled on a regular basis
- To authorise electronic payments to suppliers and staff
- To monitor the integrity of the daily Partner 4 Windows to Business Central upload
- To contribute to the ongoing development of Finance's processes and systems
- To ensure that locally-controlled taxes are paid on a timely basis and to assist the external accountants with the production of tax returns and any other compliance information.
- To manage the recharging of costs
- To lead the month end routines, including posting of fixed assets, accruals and prepayments, and ensure that nominal ledgers are in balance
- To submit final TB for consolidation into the management pack, and to provide commentaries on variances to budget and/or prior year
- To prepare the monthly department performance packs for use by CEO and Heads of Department
- To oversee the production of monthly cost centre expenditure reports for locally-incurred costs (e.g. rent and rates, facilities) and handling of enquiries raised by the business.
- To assist with the external financial audit and the preparation of the annual accounts
- To assist management with the annual budgeting exercise. Liaise regularly with budget holders to ensure effective control and transparency
- Be a trusted finance advisor to the CEO, Chairman and Heads of Department
- Help management to analyse the performance of the business, as measured in the weekly fees and matters report, the monthly management accounts, and 'lock-up' reporting (WIP, debtors, disbursements)
- Take a lead on any ad hoc analysis that may be needed from time to time
- Assit with group finance tasks
Profile
Qualifications/ Experience:
- Bachelor's degree and CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified
- Knowledge of FRS102 or IFRS reporting
- 3+ years of post-qualified experience
- Experience with management accounts and budget reporting
- Writing written financial performance commentaries
- Legal services or private equity background, or equivalent
- Experience of Business Central GL and Jet Reports or similar
- Working in high-change environments
