We are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join our client's restaurant in the heart of Colchester working in a friendly and supportive team. What Does the Role Entail?
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards within the kitchen. Your responsibilities will include:
Ensuring overall cleanliness in the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and cleaning floors and surfaces.
Assisting with basic food preparation such as washing and peeling vegetables.
Multitasking efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
The working hours are 15-20 hours per week, ideally from 9.30am to 3pm Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with some flexibility to work evenings and weekends. The restaurant operates from Wednesday to Sunday, and are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Rotas will include a mix of day and evening shifts, and occasionally, double shifts with a break in between (staff meals provided).
What Skills Will You Have?
We are looking for someone with:
A high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
The ability to multitask under pressure.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Basic food prep skills or a willingness to acquire them.
Experience is a plus, but not essential as training will be provided.
