gap technical are proud to be representing a leading company in their search for a Compliance Technologist to join their Quality department based in Colchester.
Performance Objectives:

  • Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Compliance Technologist will play a key role in ensuring that all operations within the company adhere to the highest standards of regulatory compliance. You will be responsible for producing and maintaining product specifications, completing customer questionnaires, and ensuring that supplier approvals are conducted efficiently. You will also be an integral member of the HACCP team, contributing to the identification and management of risks.
  • Key responsibilities include supporting the delivery of BRC and customer audits, conducting compliance investigations, and implementing corrective actions where necessary. You will also ensure that all necessary documentation is accurately maintained and accessible. Familiarity with food industry regulations and standards such as HACCP and BRC is essential.
  • Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and provide proactive support to the QA Manager on various compliance initiatives, ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Person Specification:

  • Experience and qualifications in a compliance or quality assurance role, ideally within the food industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to assess and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency in compliance management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of BRC Global Standard, HACCP principles, and food safety/hygiene regulations.
  • Familiarity with food industry legislation and the ability to apply this knowledge to maintain compliance.
  • Demonstrated experience in internal and external auditing, as well as risk assessment.
  • Proactive and solution-oriented approach to identifying and addressing compliance issues.
