Casanovas Recruitment Solutions are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Business Partner to join a team in Colchester. This role will provide high quality HR advice and support across all management levels, partnering with managers to achieve business objectives and manage employee relations effectively. This position will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic goals of the organisation and supporting a culture that aligns with their values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert HR advice to managers on a wide range of HR matters, such as employee relations, performance management, grievance and disciplinary processes, and absence management.
  • Collaborate with managers to proactively address workforce issues, providing support to improve employee engagement, retention, and performance.
  • Analyse workforce data to identify trends and propose solutions to address issues such as turnover, sickness, and excess hours.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies, ensuring they are in line with current employment law and best practices.
  • Lead on HR initiatives such as organisational changes, restructuring, and redundancies, ensuring compliance with relevant processes and legal requirements.
  • Coach and train managers on effective HR practices and support the delivery of HR training sessions.
  • Work closely with HR colleagues to continually improve systems, processes, and services.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive culture by promoting the college’s policies on safeguarding, diversity, and health and safety.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • CIPD Level 3 (or equivalent) and ideally CIPD Level 5 or 7
  • Significant experience in a senior HR advisory or business partner role, particularly in employee relations, change management, and performance management
  • In-depth knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices
  • Experience working with HR data to inform decision-making
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and influence managers and stakeholders

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience within the education or public sector
  • Ability to deliver coaching, training, and workshops to managers
  • Experience with HR IT systems and Microsoft Office
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion
