Are you a talented Systems Engineer with expertise in electrification and hybridization? We are recruiting on behalf of a renowned global leader in specialised vehicles. This opportunity is based in Colchester and focuses on designing the future of hybrid and electric-powered equipment in a supportive, innovative environment.

Position Overview: As a Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in advancing hybrid and electric-powered systems, from design through to validation, for high-performance turf care equipment. You'll work on integrating and optimising components like microcontrollers, DC/AC motors, and complex electrical harnesses. Your expertise will help drive transformational improvements in product reliability, compliance, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and integrate systems for hybrid/electric specialised vehicles, focusing on components such as microcontrollers, DC/AC motors, generators, and complex electrical harnesses
  • Develop functional specifications for alternative energy sources, including lithium batteries and new technologies
  • Collaborate in creating project timelines, validation plans, and design patent disclosures
  • Resolve and document test issues, applying quality processes like 8D
  • Ensure compliance with internal and global standards to support product rollout

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering
  • Proven experience in the electrification and hybridization of mobile equipment
  • Strong knowledge of embedded systems architecture and EMC compliance is a must
  • Proficiency with CAD 3D (preferably NX), Matlab/Simulink, and FEA analysis is beneficial
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions with minimal supervision, meeting detailed engineering objectives
