Our client is seeking a personable and friendly IT Support Technician to help support and develop the IT within their organisation while providing first-class customer support to the internal user base.
As IT Support Technician you will have previously resolved tickets at 1st and 2nd Line and ideally come with some exposure to 3rd Line troubleshooting.
You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work efficiently and effectively with people of all ages and technical abilities.
You will have good decision making skills and be comfortable working and resolving technical issues independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide friendly and approachable 1st-3rd line technical support via the helpdesk and in person for hardware, software, and networking issues.
- To help manage and maintain the IT infrastructure, including the Meraki switch infrastructure, Smoothwall Firewall and filtering, Google Workspace OS, Apple iPad and Windows environment(small) and other cloud-based systems.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of in-house software.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues across a range of devices (Chromebooks, PC’s, iPads, VOIP Phones, MFD Printers, and other tech devices)
- Ensure the security and compliance of IT systems, including the management of user account and file access, on premises and cloud storage and Mobile device management.
- Assist with the maintenance of the websites and the intranet.
- Assist in the planning and execution of IT projects and system upgrades.
- Maintaining accurate records of IT assets.
- Provide training and guidance to users on IT best practices and cyber security.
- Liaise with third-party vendors and service providers when necessary.
- Raise orders for new equipment in response to requests and following financial procedures.
- Deploying new IT equipment such as laptops, iPads and mobiles.
About You:
- Previous experience in an IT support role - 1st, 2nd Line.
- Strong knowledge of Google Workspace OS, Meraki and Smoothwall or similar products/knowledge
- Familiarity with networking protocols, firewalls, and wireless network management.
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues across multiple platforms.
- Understanding of data protection regulations and cybersecurity best practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support non-technical users.
- Attention to detail and the desire to work efficiently and effectively both within a team environment and independently.
**A full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle due to some travel to other sites across Essex
