School Kitchen Assistant ( 2 hours a day, 5 days a week)

Job Title: Kitchen Assistant
Location: Colchester

Hours :The hours would be 11.15am to 1.45pm (2.5 hrs per day - 12.5 hrs per week TTO - 39 weeks per year)

Are you passionate about supporting a vibrant school environment? We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring students receive high-quality meals every day.

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of food and beverages to meet school standards.
• Serve food to students and staff from counters, kiosks, or trolleys.
• Maintain cleanliness by undertaking all cleaning tasks, including equipment, utensils, and food preparation areas.
• Ensure counters and tables are clean and adequately stocked during service times.
• Comply with health and safety, hygiene, and statutory regulations.
• Support special school functions when required, including occasional events outside normal hours.
• Uphold safeguarding standards and promote a safe environment for all students.

• Experience in food preparation and customer service is desirable.
• Ability to use kitchen and cleaning equipment efficiently.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A commitment to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in a kitchen setting.
