Multi-Skilled Maintenance EngineerWe’re on the lookout for a dynamic and skilled Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our dedicated team. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring our production lines operate seamlessly.

We are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join the team in Colne Valley, just north of Colchester, Essex.

About the role:

As our Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be an integral member of the Engineering function at the site, providing a comprehensive electrical, mechanical and maintenance engineering service to safely sustain and improve production operating efficiencies in line with the continued growth of the business.

Other duties will include:

  • Repair and maintain production and ancillary equipment, property, and facilities to minimise downtime and meet production process requirements.
  • Perform prompt and safe repairs to manufacturing equipment.
  • Work on various machinery, including Washers, Graders, Weighers, Baggers, and others, as per the Planned Maintenance Schedule.
  • Complete Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) schedules, maintain accurate records, and enter data within specified timescales.
  • Collaborate with production teams to improve equipment knowledge and ability to identify and resolve problems or refer to experts.
  • Follow policies and procedures aligned with food safety and quality management systems.
  • Participate actively in health and safety procedures, identifying hazards and risks, and safe working practices.

Shift Pattern:

Your standard hours will be from 6pm to 2am, but flexibility is key—there may be times when you'll need to start earlier or stay later to support the operations team. We offer overtime for additional hours, with plenty of opportunities to earn more. Occasional weekend work will be required for specific maintenance tasks, all planned well in advance.

About you:

You will be is a collaborative team player who can think flexibly and overcome challenges. You should have a proven understanding of both Electrical and Mechanical maintenance, backed by at least 3 years of maintenance experience and ideally 1 year in the food production industry. A keen eye for reliability and continuous improvements, along with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, is essential.
