Prime Appointments is working with a global manufacturer in the defence industry, looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their expanding team in Colchester. This well-established company specialises in the design, testing, certification, and manufacturing of high-quality products for defence applications.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in driving engineering excellence, ensuring product quality and contributing to business growth through innovative design solutions.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be required to:
- Design and develop new products while ensuring compliance with technical specifications
- Create accurate 3D CAD models and manufacturing-ready designs
- Prepare and present project progress reports during monthly engineering reviews
- Develop technical documentation, including Design FMEA, Product Risk Analysis, and Technical Specifications
- Ensure all designs and processes comply with quality standards and industry regulations
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum four years of experience in an HVAC or mechanical engineering environment
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software
- Experience in product development and delivery projects
- Knowledge of software and programming is an advantage
- HNC/Degree in Engineering or equivalent
