Mechanical Design Engineer( HGV Trailers)Location:, North EssexJob Type: Full-time, Hybrid considered(3 days office / 2 days home during relocation)Salary: Competitive, negotiable based on experienceOwn transport is required due to location.We are seeking a HGV  Trailer Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients  team in a newly created role focused on innovative product development.This position is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in the design of trailers, vehicle transporters, or low loaders.The company is a leader in heavy engineering manufacturing, well-established and recognized in the industry.Day-to-day of the role:Work on design projects both as part of a team and individually within a small, busy team of Designers. Handle multitasking over projects and perform duties covering all functions of the Design Office. Manage design tasks from quick modifications to large-scale Design Projects and R&D projects. Create all working drawings, assembly sketches, and bills of materials. Occasionally attend customer sites and car manufacturing plants for loading trials to evaluate designs.  Required Skills & Qualifications:Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, or HNC with proven experience in Mechanical Engineering Design. Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Autodesk Inventor 3D. High level of computer literacy, including Microsoft Office (Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Innovative and creative thinking with a logical approach to problem-solving. Experience in standard methods of steel component fabrications and sound knowledge of welded fabrications. Ability to perform technical reporting, tolerance analysis, and stress calculations for design approval. Familiarity with current C and U regulations and EU directives is advantageous. Good understanding of hydraulics, electrics, and pneumatic systems.  Benefits:Competitive salary with annual reviews.
