Our client, a leading freight forwarder is looking for a Freight Forwarding Clerk to join their office in Colchester.

Duties

  • Perform clerical duties such as data entry, filing, photocopying, and organizing documents
  • Running multimodal shipments from start to finish, to include, liaising with agents, bill of ladings, clearance instructions, deliveries and any special requirements.
  • Assist with office management tasks including ordering supplies and maintaining inventory
  • Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate department or individual
  • Provide administrative support to the operations team as needed
  • Utilize computerized systems and software to input and retrieve information
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and handle it with utmost professionalism

Skills

  • Needs at least 3 years experience in the shipping industry. Preferably within a freight forwarders. knowledge of Import/Export sea and air.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft office (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and ability to learn new software quickly
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong phone etiquette and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently
