Senior Payroll Analyst - Up to £40,000Flexible hybrid working (majority remote)6 months Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking a dedicated Senior Payroll Analyst to join our long-term client for a full-time, fixed-term position of 6 months. (1-2 days in office)This critical role will support the team during a system and program transition. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the smooth operation of the payroll processes during this time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily payroll tasks, including backfilling roles to support team members during Testing and Parallel run phases.
  • Monitor and manage the shared mailbox for payroll enquiries
  • Conduct complex calculations for Maternity Leave, Long-Term Sickness (LTS), Statutory Sick Pay (SSP), and employee departures.
  • Process new hires, terminations, and statutory absences.
  • Oversee all ad hoc data, pension and benefit changes across a dozen payrolls, including one weekly payroll and two pensioner payrolls.
  • Raise ad hoc advances and process third-party payments.
  • Ensure accuracy in team processing.
  • Conduct system audits between HR and payroll systems.
  • Complete month-end payroll controls before payroll release.
  • Generate payroll reports at month-end

Successful candidate:

  • Extensive experience within payroll department
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft and Excel
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ideally from a payroll Bureau background and experience with Payrite FMP/IRIS
