Are you an experienced Compliance Manager with a legal background in a Solicitors or Law Firm? If so our client, a fast growing prestigious law firm is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to join their team in the legal services industry. As a Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that the company operates in accordance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. You will play a critical role in maintaining their reputation and integrity by developing and implementing compliance programs and policies. The candidate will have a strong understanding of legal compliance requirements, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.

To be considered for this role you must have previous legal sector experience along with at least 3 years UK based work experience.

The ideal candidate will have

  • A solid background in Compliance and Risk within the legal sector
  • Knowledge of SRA codes of conduct and regulations
  • Knowledge of AML regulations and requirements for law firms
  • Experience of working within the legal audit and risk profession
  • Experience of being customer facing
  • Excellent administration skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

You will be responsible for

  • Managing compliance inbox
  • Advising on all SRA queries
  • Advising on GDPR issues
  • Supporting the team with maintaining and monitoring regulatory accounts
  • Providing necessary training to wider business as and when required
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are up to date
  • Keeping up to date with current regulations
  • Producing weekly/monthly reports

Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently working as a Compliance Manager within a Law firm
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within Compliance at mid to senior level
  • Proficiency in using MS Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities to priorities tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team
  • High ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Solid understanding of the client’s business to enable you to suggest improvements to their business and operations
