We are hiring for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who has experience working with JCT design and build contracts and can work on residential construction projects in East Anglia. This is a role that focuses on delivering cost control measures and detailed cost estimates for new-build and refurbishment projects in sectors such as housing associations, private residential, leisure, education, and commercial projects.

Duties of a Senior Quantity SurveyorIn this role, you will be working in the Quantity Surveying team to ensure accurate cost management for construction projects. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and overheads• Monitoring project expenditures and implementing cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency• Collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate costing and budgeting• Preparing tender documents and assisting in the evaluation of bids from contractors• Maintaining comprehensive records of all project costs and financial transactions• Providing regular reports on project financial status to management and stakeholders• Advising on procurement strategies and assisting in contract negotiations

Skills and Experience of a Senior Quantity SurveyorAs a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you should have experience with:

• At least 10 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, with a minimum of 5 years working with a Main Contractor• Experience with JCT design and build contracts• Full understanding and knowledge of residential projects from start to finish, including design input• Strong knowledge of cost control and financial efficiency in construction projects

It would be beneficial to the Senior Quantity Surveyor role if you also had:

• Experience working within East Anglia, particularly Essex• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills• Proficiency with cost management software and Microsoft Office
