Responsibilities

  • Contribute to curriculum development by creating, reviewing, and updating lesson plans and schemes of work.
  • Teach assigned classes and provide a well-organised, challenging, and engaging learning environment.
  • Foster self-directed learning and use technology to enhance student learning.
  • Utilise assessment data to inform lesson planning.
  • Assign and mark homework in a timely manner.
  • Ensure high-quality teaching and learning throughout lessons.
  • Address immediate issues or emergencies following school policies.
  • Respond to student inquiries and questions.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status- this is essential
  • Proven experience teaching Drama at KS3.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
  • PGCE with QTS is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the Drama curriculum.
  • Previous experience teaching Drama in a school or educational setting is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for Drama and the ability to inspire students creatively.
  • Solid theatrical knowledge, including drama techniques, stagecraft, and production processes.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and engaging demeanour.
  • Strong communication skills that inspire and engage students.
