Location: ColchesterSalary: £24,000 - £28,000 per annum (dependent on experience & qualifications)Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Role & Client Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Tutor to join our team in Colchester. In this role, you will deliver Functional Skills English up to Level 2, supporting learners in developing their literacy skills and gaining qualifications that will enhance their career prospects.
You will provide engaging and inclusive lessons, ensuring students build confidence in their reading, writing, and communication skills. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on learners’ futures while working in a supportive and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Functional Skills English lessons up to Level 2.
- Create an engaging learning environment that motivates and inspires learners.
- Embed Functional Skills English across all learning programmes.
- Regularly assess learners’ work, ensuring it meets awarding body and Ofsted standards.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to support learners through their qualifications.
- Work closely with the wider team to ensure successful learner progression.
Essential/Desirable Criteria:
Essential:
- Experience delivering Functional Skills English up to Level 2.
- A minimum Level 3 teaching qualification (PTLLS, AET, or equivalent).
- An Assessing Qualification (TAQA, CAVA, or equivalent).
- Teaching experience within 14-19 provision.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted and the Education Inspection Framework.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience supporting learners with additional needs.
- Understanding of current English curriculum requirements and assessment strategies.
