Secondary Art Teacher - Full time, starting ASAP - Colchester

Prospero Teaching is looking for an Art Teacher to start in January 2024 in a mainstream secondary school in the Southend area on a full time basis.

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Art Teacher for an Ofsted "Good" Secondary school in Colchester, Essex.

The school is a medium size mainstream Secondary School with a supportive Art department. The school is going from strength to strength and providing CPD throughout the year. The school does have a 6th form, although most of the timetable for this role will be key stage 3 and key stage 4.

The position is open to both NQT's and experienced teachers. Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

About the school and contract:

  • We are looking for an Art Teacher to start as soon as possible.
  • You will be focusing on teaching KS3 and KS4 students.
  • ECTs are encouraged to apply.
  • You will have LSAs to support you.
  • There may also be some 1:1 teaching involved.
  • The SLT are experienced and supportive with specialists in all areas.
  • Part time (3 days a week) teaching position including planning and marking.

About the successful Art Teacher:

  • Hold QTS or QTLS.
  • Hold a relevant Art related degree.
  • Experience teaching in the UK is desirable but not essential.
  • You will have excellent classroom and behaviour management.
  • You will be pro active and innovative with the ability to engage students in different ways.
