Requirements:

  • QTS/QTLS/PGCE is essential
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum
  • A proven record of successful teaching in an 11-16 school
  • Experience teaching History at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with a proven track record of student success.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to use effective strategies and resources that help all students learn and develop new skills

Responsibilities:

  • Teach History to students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, emphasising the development of critical thinking, research, and analytical abilities.
  • Design and deliver dynamic, curriculum-focused lessons that accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, offering constructive feedback.
  • Engage in school-wide activities, attend department meetings, and pursue professional development opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and support to help students achieve their academic and personal potential.
  • Uphold high standards of behaviour management in accordance with school policies.
