Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Behaviour Support Assistant to join a partner school in Colchester. This role is available for an immediate start and will continue until the end of the Summer term (22/07/2025) for the right candidate.

As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will work closely with students in KS3 and KS4, providing essential support to manage and improve behaviour in the classroom. The role requires experience in Learning Support Assistant (LSA) capacities, along with TPP/restraint training. The ideal candidate will be proactive, resilient, and passionate about supporting students with behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with behavioural needs in KS3 and KS4 classrooms.
  • Assist teachers in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a positive learning environment.
  • Implement de-escalation strategies and behaviour interventions.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, helping them remain engaged in learning.
  • Work collaboratively with the school’s pastoral team to monitor student progress and behaviour plans.
Requirements:
  • Previous classroom experience, ideally as an LSA in a secondary school setting.
  • Experience in behaviour management, including de-escalation techniques.
  • TPP/restraint training or similar qualifications.
  • A valid driving licence is desirable but not essential.
Working Hours:

Monday – Thursday: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Friday: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM
