We are a well-established care home situated in Essex, specializing in high-quality care for residents with dementia, nursing needs, and those requiring residential care. Our facility, which houses up to 61 residents, is dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where residents can thrive.

Role Overview

As the Care Home Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and operations of the care home. This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in dementia care and nursing, capable of ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered consistently. You will manage a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintaining a positive and safe environment for residents and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals, ensuring they deliver high-quality, person-centered care.
  • Foster a positive working environment that encourages professional development and high staff morale.
  • Ensure effective communication between all staff members, residents, and their families.

Care Quality and Compliance:

  • Ensure the care provided meets the standards set by regulatory bodies, including the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
  • Regularly review care plans and ensure they are tailored to the individual needs of residents.
  • Conduct audits and implement quality improvement plans to maintain the highest standards of care.

Operational Management:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the care home, ensuring all aspects run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Manage the home's budget, including staffing, resources, and maintenance.
  • Ensure the home is well-maintained and provides a safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Resident and Family Engagement:

  • Build strong relationships with residents and their families, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly.
  • Organize and oversee activities and programs that enhance the quality of life for residents.

Business Development:

  • Promote the home within the local community and develop positive relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Ensure occupancy levels are maintained at or near capacity through effective marketing and relationship management.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Care Home Manager or in a similar leadership role within the care sector.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in dementia care, nursing care, and residential care.
  • Registered Manager's Award (RMA) or NVQ Level 5 in Health and Social Care Management (or equivalent).
  • Excellent knowledge of CQC regulations and standards.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen and experience in budget management.
