Location: Colchester, Brightlingsea, Thorrington
Salary: £12.32 per hour
Positions available: Permanent, full time, part time

The Role
They are looking for compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join their residential and supported living services, supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs to live fulfilling and independent lives.
As a Support Worker, you will assist individuals with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being. You will work closely with their service leads and registered manager to ensure that each individual’s Support plan is followed, and their needs are met. Duties will include providing person centred support, managing behaviours that challenge, encouraging social inclusion, and supporting individuals in developing, maintaining, and enhancing life skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide person centred care, support, and guidance to individuals in line with their support plans.
- Assist and prompt with daily activities such as meal preparation, cleaning, and personal hygiene.
- Promote independence and empowerment for people with learning disabilities and complex needs.
- Support individuals to engage in community activities, hobbies, and social events.
- Support with managing challenging behaviours and ensuring a safe environment.
- Support individuals to engage in education and voluntary work placements.
- Maintain accurate records and complete relevant documentation in a timely manner.
- Work as part of a team to ensure high standards of support are met.
- Support with health and well-being needs, including administering medication when required.
- Build trusting relationships with other team members, service users, families, and professionals.
Skills and Qualifications
- You will have a caring nature, a passion for making a difference in the lives of others, and a willingness to learn and grow in the role.
- NVQ/Diploma Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care is desirable but not essential.
You will be provided with comprehensive training and ongoing support to help you succeed.
