Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Social Communications

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Social Communications to join our secondary schools in Colchester. This part-time position is available for an immediate start and offers a rewarding opportunity to support students in developing essential social communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Intervention Delivery: Lead and deliver social communication interventions for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, helping them develop essential social skills.

  • Student Support: Provide targeted support to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs, preparing and delivering 1:1 or group interventions to provide coping strategies and learning within school.

  • Assessment and Planning: Assist in assessing students' needs and contribute to the planning and preparation of differentiated learning activities tailored to individual requirements.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, the SENCo Department, and other support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.

  • Parental Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents, building strong relationships to ensure the best outcomes for our students.
