Attendance Officer

Remedy are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join a team in Colchester as an Attendance Officer. This is a crucial role in promoting a positive and inclusive school environment by ensuring excellent attendance and punctuality among the students.

Key Responsibilities:

Attendance Monitoring: Monitor and record daily attendance, identifying patterns and trends to address potential issues promptly.

Communication: Establish effective communication with parents, guardians, and external agencies to address attendance concerns and provide support where necessary.

Interventions: Implement strategies and interventions to improve attendance, working collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and students.

Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date attendance records using the school's electronic system, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

Reporting: Prepare regular reports on attendance statistics for senior leadership, governors, and external stakeholders, highlighting areas for improvement and success.

Home Visits: Conduct home visits when necessary to engage with parents and address attendance issues in a supportive and proactive manner.

Collaboration: Work closely with the pastoral team, teaching staff, and external agencies to create a supportive network for students facing attendance challenges.

Training and Awareness: Provide training to staff, students, and parents on the importance of regular attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications and Experience:

Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
