Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - Additional and Behavioral Needs

About the Role: We are seeking an empathetic, dedicated, and proactive Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to students across either primary or secondary levels, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and encouraging positive behavior and engagement. Working closely with teachers and other support staff, you will play a vital role in fostering a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to students with additional needs or behavioral challenges, assisting with their academic and social development.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour , utilising positive reinforcement and conflict resolution strategies to support an inclusive classroom culture.
  • Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to plan and adapt learning activities according to students' needs.
  • Encourage students' independence, confidence, and engagement with learning activities.
  • Support students in developing key social and life skills, fostering positive interactions and resilience.
  • Provide regular feedback to teaching staff and contribute to progress reports on students' development and achievements.
