SEN Teaching Assistant

Remedy Education are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join a PMLD school as a Teaching Assistant in Colchester, the successful candidate will assist the class teacher in providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for our students with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons and interventions to students with special educational needs
  • Assisting with individual and small group work, under the direction of the class teacher
  • Helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment for students
  • Supporting students with physical and personal care needs, as required
  • Assisting with record keeping and monitoring of students' progress
  • Developing positive relationships with students, their families and other staff members

Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Previous experience of working with children with special educational needs
  • A passion for working with children and making a positive impact on their lives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from the class teacher
  • Patience and empathy
  • A commitment to continuing professional development
  • This is a full-time position 8:30am - 15:30 pm Monday - Friday.
