Long-term Teachers are proud to be supporting a fantastic special school based near Coleford with their recruitment. They are on the lookout for a couple of TA's that are able to join the team ideally on a full-time basis in supporting across a range of different special needs & disabilities.

The neds of the students are often complex and physical disabilities so experience in this area is crucial. They are a truly remarkable school and having placed a number of staff there over the years I can confidently say how rewarding a school they are to work at. They have a tight knit team of staff who all pull together to support their students.

The role

The role is varied but will mostly involve providing general classroom support as well as some 1-1 support for students who most require the support. The role also will heavily revolve around simply supporting the class teacher with whatever they need. Providing the students with a happy environment to be in is the most important thing, they want their students to really enjoy coming to school!

The needs of the students can be complex so experience working with special needs & disabilities is crucial, they are open to applications from support workers.

You will be expected to:

  • Be adaptable and flexible around the needs of the pupils.
  • Have experience of working with special needs & disabilities.
  • Work well as part of a team
  • Support the class teacher as well as other members of staff
  • Be enthusiastic, positive and proactive.
