Reed have been selected to appoint a commercially focused Group Finance Director to our client’s highly motivated leadership team.  This role is crucial in driving performance and supporting the growth ambitions of this dynamic & unique group. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner within the company, ensuring financial robustness and steering the business towards long-term sustainability and growth.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Hands-on management of day-to-day financial operations from our support centre.
  • Lead a small finance team, promoting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Implement and integrate technology platforms to enhance efficiency and support scalable operations.
  • Develop and maintain a robust financial framework, including policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Provide expert financial guidance as a strategic partner to the Managing Director and Leadership team.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports, ensuring compliance with Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Communicate financial performance across the business, offering clear insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to support strategic decision-making.
  • Implement cost control measures to optimise operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, bankers, regulatory bodies, and business partners to maintain transparency and trust.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, maintaining a robust internal control environment.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in financial roles, with a minimum of 5 years in a Financial Controller or similar senior position within a commercial organisation.
  • Strong technological proficiency, with experience in using technology to enhance business efficiency.
  • Proven leadership skills with a track record of leading and inspiring teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of distilling complex financial information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Experience with M&A strategy and execution is advantageous.
