We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our dynamic Health and Safety team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote best practices across all areas of our operations. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Create and review safe systems of work, outlining safe operational procedures that identify and consider all relevant hazards.
  • Prepare and deliver training on safe systems of work to team members.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop suitable risk controls.
  • Perform regular workplace and equipment inspections to identify hazards and assess the effectiveness of control measures.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant H&S regulations and ensure that working practices are safe and comply with legislation.
  • Record incidents and accidents, produce statistics for managers, and conduct investigations into safety incidents to identify root causes and develop corrective measures.
  • Provide or deliver relevant education and training, leading in-house training with managers and team members on health and safety issues and risks.
  • Consult with team members to promote a strong health and safety culture.
  • Produce monthly management reports, newsletters, and bulletins as required.
  • Assist with safety management system audits, including both internal audits and 3rd party accreditation audits.
  • Prepare health and safety strategies and develop/implement internal H&S policies.
  • Perform regular monitoring of health and safety performance, collecting and analysing key performance data and information.
  • Provide advice on a range of specialist areas, such as fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational diseases.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Health and Safety Advisor in a manufacturing or construction environment.
  • NEBOSH National Construction Certificate or equivalent.
  • Full driving license—site travel required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong team player with effective communication skills.
Desirable:
  • ISO 45001 Internal auditor training.
  • Train the trainer training in areas such as Manual Handling, Face Fit, Abrasive Wheels, etc.
  • NEBOSH National Diploma.
