The Role:
We are currently seeking a proactive Employment Advisor who will assist unemployed individuals facing mental health challenges and other barriers to employment, as well as support those on sick leave in their return to work.

Duties:

  • Managing a caseload of clients presenting multiple barriers, including mental health issues, disabilities, substance misuse, criminal histories, and skills gaps.
  • Conducting comprehensive initial assessments for each client to identify their specific challenges, past experiences, skills, and training needs.
  • Collaborating with clients to establish SMART goals, meeting regularly to track progress, address new challenges, and ensure readiness for employment.
  • Engaging with local employers to uncover new job opportunities and promote these positions to clients.
  • Providing up to six months of in-work support to clients who secure employment to ensure their successful integration into the workplace.


Required Skills:

  • Extensive experience as an Employment Advisor/Job Coach, demonstrating a successful track record in helping unemployed individuals secure work.
  • Proficiency in creating SMART Action Plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Expertise in managing complex cases through person-centred interventions, facilitating movement closer to the labour market.
  • Proven ability in employer engagement, with experience identifying job opportunities and supporting clients through applications, interviews, offers, and feedback.
  • A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.


Due to the nature of this role, you will be required to complete an online Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
