TAPE is a charity that is open to everyone. Their team and facilities support hands-on experiences and opportunities in areas such as filmmaking, audio production, music, photography, VR, design, creative writing, podcasting and much more.

Working from the community arts centre located in Old Colwyn, the charity seeks a visionary and dynamic leader, skilled in driving organisational success and empowering staff. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Chief Officer will have overall management responsibility for this renowned and impactful charity.

Combining inspirational leadership and multifaceted management skills, you will build upon the excellent work of your predecessors to advance TAPEs culture, capabilities, processes and reputation for delivering some of the finest work in its field.

What we need from you as a Chief Officer:

  • Significant experience of working at a senior level
  • Understand working in the not-for-profit sector and its challenges
  • Experience of working across the business functions, gaining knowledge of PR, marketing, finance, and HR
  • Proven experience executing organisational growth and leading a similar or larger size successful organisation
  • Experience of successfully working with diverse groups of people, supporting, and encouraging an inclusive environment
  • Experience and success in motivating, recruiting, developing, retaining, and mentoring high performance, mission-driven, and results-oriented teams
  • Excellent written, oral, and public speaking skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator
  • Strong business acumen including an understanding of financial information


What the role involves:

Working alongside the senior management, you will inspire and lead your team and ensure that all necessary resources are in place to achieve even greater success.

Duties to include but not limited to:

Executive Leadership and Organisational Management

  • Provide thoughtful and visionary leadership that is inclusive, transparent, and empowering in a manner that supports and guides TAPEs mission.

Board Governance

  • Maintain regular and ongoing communication with the Trustees to build strong relationships with the Board, providing leadership and support, as necessary. Ensure ongoing communication of risks and issues, as well as successes.

Development and Fundraising

  • Take the initiative in driving development and fundraising in line with TAPEs mission.

External Relations and Communications

  • Represent TAPE and serve as chief public spokesperson at events, conferences, and partnership meetings.

Financial Management

  • Ensure TAPEs financial stability and sustainability by maintaining healthy cash flow and adequate reserves.


Salary/hours: £40,000K - £43,000 per year, reviewed annually. Working full time, office based, with flexibility to work from home, or other external working.
