Key Responsibilities

  • Training and Development: Participate in regular training to enhance your skills and keep up to date with best practices.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience supporting individuals with mental health issues, dementia, elderly care, learning disabilities, or children in residential care.
  • Driving License: A full, valid driving license with access to your own vehicle.
  • Registration: You must be registered or willing to register with Social Care Wales.
  • DBS Check: Must have or be willing to obtain an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Skills and Attributes

  • Empathy and Understanding: A deep understanding of the complex needs of individuals, whether they are facing mental health challenges, cognitive impairments, or require complex care.
  • Industry Knowledge: Well-versed in safeguarding regulations, risk assessments, de-escalation techniques, and the best practices associated with support work.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Calm and Composed: Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, providing reliable care and support.
  • Proactive Approach: A proactive and positive approach to problem-solving and delivering high-quality care.
