I am recruiting a CARING and PASSIONATE Leaving Care Service Manager to oversee a service for care leavers located in Colwyn Bay that supports young people between 16 - 25. The service is looking for experienced leaders who have experience managing either as a manager or deputy manager in a similar setting.

Leaving Care Service Managers work alongside the Area Manager and the Senior Leadership team, enabling the Support teams to deliver quality service to the people they support. Service Managers are also responsible for managing and building positive relationships with all stakeholders and putting our vision and values into action to deliver first-class service.

As a Leaving Care Service Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Provide strong leadership and direction to the team, ensuring the delivery of person-centred care.
  • Oversee all aspects of the operation of the home including staffing, compliance and health and safety.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents and their families
  • Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and empowerment, ensuring that each resident is treated with compassion, empathy, and understanding.
  • Conduct regular reviews of resident's needs and develop comprehensive care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Keep abreast of developments in care practices, legislation, and regulations, and ensure that the home operates in compliance with all relevant standards and guidelines.


Requirements for the Leaving Care Service Manager:

  • NVQ Level 5 or Diploma in Health and Social Care Management
  • Proven experience in a managerial role within a care leavers setting, with a strong understanding of the complexities and challenges associated.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices governing mental health care, CIW standards.
  • A compassionate and person-centered approach to care.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with care management systems and Microsoft Office suite.
