Spinwell is recruiting for a Welfare & Engagement Officer for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE WELFARE & ENGAGEMENT OFFICER

To provide support to a designated area of the workforce by being a local contact for delivering critical incident debriefings, resolving welfare issues whilst gathering intelligence about welfare and wellbeing issues.

To support delivery of the Force Wellbeing Strategy & promotions and to work alongside the wider HR team to deliver engagement plans.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE WELFARE & ENGAGEMENT OFFICER

Experience and understanding of traumatic situations and their potential impact on individuals

The ability to build a rapport and engage with individuals and teams at all levels;

Able to demonstrate openness and empathy in dealing with people;

Excellent communication skills;

Experience of providing welfare and wellbeing support within a Blue Light/Armed Forces environment;

Understanding of mental health and wellbeing issues and the factors that contribute to these;

Understanding and application of confidentiality;

Experience of delivering training, briefings and awareness sessions to a variety of different people and groups;

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively;

Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team;

Good record keeping skills and attention to detail;

Must be a qualified Critical Incident Debriefer (no preference as to which methodology) and be willing to successfully complete the North Wales Police training;

Must have completed Mental Health First Aid training (or equivalent) and be willing to successfully complete the North Wales Police programme to become a trainer for Mental Health First Aid training;

Good IT skills, including evidence of use of Microsoft Office programs

Full driving licence and ability to travel within the Force area
