About the role:

The successful candidates will ideally have work experience in a similar role working with gravure printing machinery (other printing experience will be considered). These roles require an excellent eye for detail, the ability to work under pressure and as part of a team. Any formal qualification in Colour Mixing would be advantageous.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor the main purpose of the role is to help ensure product quality consistently meets & exceeds customer specifications. The role is also required to help ensure production targets are consistently met by focusing on continual process improvement.

These are permanent roles working 12 hour shifts (an average of 36 hours a week). Shifts run days and nights, on a 5 week rotating shift pattern.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Working in a production department requires a mix of technical skills, soft skills and relevant experience.  Here are some essential criteria:

  • Familiarity with production machinery and equipment, understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are important for coordinating with team members and reporting issues.
  • The ability to quickly identify and resolve issues that arise during the production process is essential.
  • Precision is key in production work to ensure quality and consistency
  • The ability to work well within a team as production often involves collaboration with various departments.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changes in production schedules or processes.

About you:

Desirable Criteria for a Colour Mixer Role

  • Colour Theory Knowledge: Strong understanding of colour theory including colour matching, blending and the impact of different hues and shades.
  • Precision and Attention to Detail: Ability to measure and mix colours with high precision to achieve consistent and accurate results.
  • Experience:

Industry Experience: Previous experience in the wallpaper or related industries such as paint or textiles is highly desirable.

Hands on Mixing: Proven track record of hands-on experience in colour mixing and formulations.

  • Technical Proficiency:

Use of Tools and Equipment: Proficiency with colour mixing tools and equipment including spectrophotometers.

Software Skills: Familiarity with digital colour matching tools.

  • Problem Solving Skills

Troubleshooting: Ability to identify and resolve colour discrepancies and formulation issues quickly and efficiently.

Adaptability: Flexibility to adjust formulations based on feedback and production requirements,

  • Quality Control: Ensuring that all colour mixes meet the company’s quality standards and specifications.
