Simply Education is seeking confident teaching assistants to collaborate with our Congleton-based school. The school provides support to both Primary and Secondary aged students, helping them access tailored learning opportunities that focus on their individual interests and needs. You will be working on a 2:1 basis with a tutor to facilitate learning opportunities for students who have been out of a formal learning environment for an extended period. The primary goal of the successful teaching assistant is to rebuild trust and rapport with students, aiming to boost their self-esteem, confidence, and resilience, and to reignite their passion for learning. Please note that this teaching assistant role includes an element of transporting students, so you will need to add business insurance to your policy.

The school supports students in accessing bespoke learning opportunities that focus on their interests while also helping them achieve core qualifications such as SATs or GCSEs. Additionally, the school offers several vocational study options, including beauty and catering, and utilizes the local area to develop life skills, ensuring that students are prepared for the next step in their educational journey and equipped to lead fulfilling adult lives. The school prides itself on following students' talents and interests and supporting the students to explore career opportunities that reflect their talents and interest the learning is then tailored around this to ensure that students leave the school with the correct qualifications to continue to progress onto their career aspirations.

The successful candidate must be empathetic and nurturing in their approach, capable of modelling and promoting high behavioural expectations. Our students can demonstrate colourful language and behaviour at times so the successful candidate must understand that this is a defence mechanism of our students and have the ability to look past this and not be easily offended. Additionally, it is crucial for the successful teaching assistant to communicate effectively, build rapport, and find common interests with students to inspire and motivate them. Throughout your role as a teaching assistant, you will work closely with the students' tutor to aid in their learning and support their well-being. Occasionally, there is an element of travel associated with this role, so a clean UK driving license is desirable. The school generously contributes to fuel costs. Key Responsibilities:

- Work with the students' Tutor to deliver high-quality bespoke learning opportunities that focus on the students' interests and vocational studies, as well as functional skills in English and Maths.

- Support the students to become re-engaged with their learning.

- Model and promote high behaviour expectations.

- Communicate effectively and build rapport and common interests with the students to inspire and motivate them.

- Work closely with the students' Tutor to Prepare the students for life beyond school.

Key Requirements:

- Transporting students, you must be willing to add business insurance and be comfortable lone working with students.

- An understanding of working with disengaged students.

- Knowledge and understanding of vocational education.

- Strong communication skills.

- Resilience and the ability to model and promote high behaviour expectations.

- Ability to inspire and motivate students.

- Willingness to learn new skills and techniques.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

- Driving license and access to own transport is desirable.
