Strategic Buyer

Up to £50,000 + Bonus + 4 day week + 1 day WFH


RPS are exclusively partnered with a global tier 1 aerospace manufacturer who are looking to hire a Strategic Buyer, following a period of significant growth within the business.


ROLE PURPOSE:

The procurement lead for allocated programmes/commodity. Responsible for managing the BOM cost versus budget, BOM integrity, sourcing decisions and cost reduction opportunities, including change and risk mitigation. Ensuring requirements are met on time, delivering a highly capable and cost-effective supply base, adhering to required quality standards.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the creation, updating and presentation of procurement slides / actions to the Procurement Manager and Programme / Project site reviews (Business review)
  • Responsible for the Programme Supplier Sourcing in line with development Strategy.
  • Responsible for the Supplier Selection RFQs.
  • Responsible for Programme Supplier Negotiation, including price, general terms and conditions.
  • Support Programme Supplier Transfers.
  • Responsible for initiating, implementing and negotiating parts onto supplier consignment/VMI.
  • Responsible for Programme Procurement Change Control, and where applicable Export Control and ITAR.
  • Responsible for the delivery / maintenance / Integrity of Programme BOM to Cost / Budget / while ensuring Item / Contract Item Data is updated and maintained.


EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a strategic/commodity buyer or equivalent
  • Ability to demonstrate cost saving initiatives
  • Sound knowledge of procurement processes and strategies
  • Proficient in contract management and supplier evaluation
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Dealing with ambiguity
  • Proven experience of contractual and commercial negotiations
