Job Title: Quality Manager
Location: CW12
Salary: Up to £35,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Purpose of the Quality Manager Role:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Manager to join our client's team. The successful candidate will oversee and manage all quality assurance and compliance functions within the company, ensuring adherence to ISO 9001:2008 standards and product approvals. This role is crucial in maintaining product quality and safety, while continuously improving processes in line with customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities for a Quality Manager:
- Manage and maintain the company's ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, including: Quality Procedures and Work Instructions, Internal Quality Audits, Corrective and Preventive Action Systems, Managing supplier and internal non-conformances, as well as customer returns.
- Prepare and update company quality documents for ISO 9001:2008 TUV Surveillance Transfer Audits
- Oversee documentation related to Product Technical Files (e.g., customer drawings, product data sheets, and approval certificates)
- Act as the liaison with customers, addressing quality issues and ensuring compliance with national and international approval bodies (BSI, KEMA, UL, SAI)
- Prepare samples and coordinate in-house and third-party testing, including cable flex tests and temperature rise tests
- Present periodic management reviews of the Quality Management System to senior stakeholders
- Perform daily testing, calibration of electrical test sets, and final inspections of products
- Manage goods inward inspections and final product quality checks
- Monitor health and safety compliance, including risk assessments, new legislation reviews, and effectiveness of the current system
Requirements for a Quality Manager:
- Proven experience in quality management, ideally within manufacturing or a related industry
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2008 standards and auditing processes
- Experience with technical product testing and calibration, particularly in electrical or cable products
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards in quality control and health and safety
