Software Engineer

Role:
Due to an increase of the number new product releases, we currently have a requirement to take on additional Realtime software contractors to work with our current R&D software and hardware teams. The role will be in the development and testing of real-time embedded software for electronic motor control systems known as Drives or Inverters. This will involve collaborating with members of the software team, as well as other departments based in Germany and China.

Working as one of a team of Software Engineers, you will be providing development and support expertise using embedded C/C++. You must have a knowledge of the lifecycle of real-time embedded software development and support for electronics products.
The job could involve the design, development and testing for both embedded systems and PC tools from concept to delivery.
A knowledge of hardware interface techniques, basic hardware debugging and the use of ICE.
Experienced in formal methods of software design and using GIT and defect tracking tools.
Experience in Assembler and ARM microcontrollers an advantage.
An understanding of Drives or other Power Electronics technology would be a distinct advantage.
Awareness of H&S and working in lab environments with mains voltages or above.
Ideally you should have understanding and experience on working in an Agile environment.

The ability to work autonomously and using initiative is equally important.
