CAD Engineer
We are working with a sheet metal fabrication business who are seeking an experienced CAD engineer to join their growing team. With a large order book and regular contract renewels for bespoke fabrications - this is a great time to be joining this expanding business.
Reporting to the Design Manager you will be responsible for developing new and existing products and be involved in a variety of mechanical design projects. You will work in close collaboration with the team to ensure a smooth and efficient manufacturing process.
Essential requirements
- Use CAD software to create detailed design drawings and models
- Evaluate and analyse design concepts for feasibility, functionality and cost effectiveness
- Develop and implement production processed and workflows
- Collaborate with production teams to optimise manufacturing processes
- Select appropriate materials for product manufacturing based on their properties and cost-effectiveness
- Works with suppliers to source and procure materials for production
- Proactive on the shop floor with the use of our state-of-the-art machines
- Ensure that products comply with industry standards and regulations
Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD software SolidWorks would be advantageous
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials particularly laser cutting and sheet metal

This is a full time, on-site position based on a 40hr week Monday to Friday with half an hour each day for lunch. Salary is commensurate with experience based on 32-36k PA with company pension.
