Vacancy on the Board of Trustees:

We are looking to recruit trustees at The Oaklea Trust, which is a charity (Registered Charity No 1091722) and its subsidiary Right2Work, which operate across the North of England. We work with a range of stakeholders and partners, seeks to provide the finest support for people and communities in the kindest possible way so that they can learn, develop and thrive.

Board Member - The Role:

We are looking for additional Trustee's from across the North East of England to support our charity and the services that operate in Cumbria, County Durham and Northumberland.

There will be occasional travel to attend quarterly board meetings in Kendal, Cumbria and expenses will be covered by the Trust to support this.

Board Member - The candidate:

If you have experience and knowledge in strategic planning, corporate and charities law, fundraising, project management such as building design and planning then we would love to hear from you.

The following areas are of particular interest but are not exclusive:

  • Strategic vision
  • Fundraising
  • HR, Culture & People Development
  • Independent judgement
  • Willingness to give time and commitment to being a trustee.

The post of trustee is unpaid but will provide a great deal of experience and satisfaction. Trustees meet four times a year, and members of Board sub committees meet regularly. Training and development is available to trustees.

We are particularly keen to achieve a more diverse board of trustees and welcome applications from all sections of the community.
