Job type: Full-time, permanent Bridge Recruitment is helping one of our established clients recruit for an experienced R&D Manager to join their ever-expanding team. Within this role you will be reporting to the R&D Director. Responsibilities of the R&D Manager: 路 Lead the research, design, development, and validation of new products and enhance existing designs through value engineering. 路 Oversee the specification and development of next-generation power and cable management products, ensuring alignment with marketing requirements and compliance with the latest National and International standards. 路 Ensure the production and maintenance of technical files to meet UK Regulations and EU directives. 路 Implement and monitor design and development procedures in accordance with ISO9001 and our client's ECO design policy. 路 Manage testing, test reporting, and safety protocols in the test facility, ensuring product compliance. 路 Coordinate with the Industrialization department to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective for production. 路 Provide strategic guidance to the Purchasing department for sourcing parts from external suppliers. 路 Collaborate with marketing to ensure the technical accuracy of catalogues and technical manuals. 路 Support and mentor the technical team on electrical and mechanical matters related to company products. 路 Utilize and promote the use of 2D and 3D CAD software in design processes. 路 Champion and uphold their Group Values and Code of Ethics. 路 Work in Engineering network with other UK&I R&D Centres and our client's Group R&D (SBUs) Requirements of the R&D Manager: 路 Significant experience in mechanical design and testing within a low voltage cable management or power distribution product manufacturing environment. 路 Proven track record of testing and reporting in an ISO 17025 accredited test facility is preferred. 路 Educated to Degree/HND level in an electrical or related engineering discipline. 路 Membership in the IET, IMechE, or equivalent engineering/technical institution is preferred. 路 In-depth knowledge of UK Wiring Regulations and relevant national and international standards. 路 Extensive experience with Power Distribution and/or Cable Management Products. 路 Proven ability to plan and manage complex product development projects and type testing programs. 路 Advanced competence in AUTOCAD/INVENTOR and/or others 3-D Modelling systems. 路 Strong IT skills, including proficiency in spreadsheets, engineering databases, and presentation tools. 路 Excellent communication skills for effective interaction at all levels within and outside the company. 路 Ability to lead and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. 路 Self-motivated with strong leadership skills. 路 Willingness to travel within and outside the UK as required.
