Are you an experienced Social Work Team Manager looking for an exciting leadership role? We are seeking a Team Manager to oversee the Assessment & Support Team in Conwy, ensuring high-quality assessments and interventions for children and families in need. This role offers a hybrid working model, allowing a balance of remote work and essential in-person leadership.

Role Overview:

As a Team Manager, you will lead and support a team of Social Workers responsible for conducting timely assessments and delivering safeguarding interventions. You will ensure compliance with statutory frameworks, provide supervision, and promote best practices in social work to achieve the best outcomes for children and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the Assessment & Support Team, ensuring high standards of practice.
  • Provide case supervision, professional guidance, and decision-making support to Social Workers.
  • Ensure timely completion of Section 47 (Child Protection) and Section 17 (Child in Need) assessments.
  • Work closely with multi-agency partners, including health, education, and police, to safeguard children.
  • Support and contribute to service development, performance monitoring, and quality assurance.
  • Ensure compliance with the Children Act 1989, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and other relevant legislation.
  • Manage workloads, allocate cases effectively, and support staff development through coaching and mentoring.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker (Degree/Diploma in Social Work).
  • Registered with Social Care Wales.
  • Previous experience as a Team Manager, Assistant Team Manager, or Senior Practitioner in children’s services.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience supervising Social Workers.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, child protection procedures, and statutory frameworks.
  • Ability to manage risk, make informed decisions, and drive service improvements.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred).
