Randstad is recruiting a Qualified Social Worker Team Manager to join the Safeguarding Children's Services Team in Conwy as an agency worker. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated professional to lead a dynamic team, ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and young people in the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of social workers, overseeing complex safeguarding cases and ensuring best practices.
  • Provide supervision, mentoring, and professional development to team members, fostering a supportive and high-performing environment.
  • Ensure statutory responsibilities are met, including child protection investigations, care proceedings, and risk assessments.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including health, education, and legal services, to safeguard children effectively.
  • Monitor team performance, ensuring timely interventions and high-quality service delivery.
  • Represent the team in key meetings, including case conferences, strategy discussions, and court hearings.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Conwy County Borough Council policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Care Wales.
  • Significant experience in safeguarding and child protection within children's services.
  • Previous experience in a team management or supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989 and Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage a demanding workload while ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Desirable:
  • Experience working in a Welsh local authority setting.
  • Knowledge of Welsh language is a plus but not essential.
  • Familiarity with Conwy County Borough Council systems and safeguarding procedures.
